Description & structure

The DELF Prim exam is a French proficiency test developed by the French Ministry of Education, internationally recognized and valid for life.

It is designed to assess the communicative skills of a candidate in a real-life situation, using authentic documents, rather than the linguistic and formal grammatical knowledge.

Four skills are evaluated through two examinations:

  • collective examination: listening, reading, writing;
  • individual examination: speaking.

      This prep course is NOT a French class, it will focus on giving all the tips you need to get you ready for the exam, understand how to organize your time and have more chance to succeed. You will work on similar exercises to the ones you will be facing during the exam.

    Results

    Results are emailed to you about one month after taking the test. After this, you will then receive emails advising you when your certificate and diploma have arrived - certificates require a few weeks after test results and diplomas require a few months - so that you can come and pick them up at the Alliance française of Edmonton. If you cannot come and pick them up, we can arrange to have them mailed to you: you will need to provide us with a Large (33x25.4cm) prepaid envelop with your name and address on it.

    Results assigned by national juries are final. If you failed the exam, you may apply to have a look at your exam paper within two weeks of your results being emailed to you. To form such request, please email us at info@afedmonton.ca

    Note that DELF Prim' examiners and markers are all trained and authorized by the CIEP. They follow strict assessment guidelines and are regularly monitored.
