Led by Joëlle Préfontaine, multidiciplinary professionnal artist, this 1.5h workshop offers a unique opportunity to explore and refine your skills in theatrical expression, in a supportive and dynamic environment!
On the agenda:
- Uncover the profound impact of the body's language in storytelling. Delve into the art of physical expression, understanding how subtle movements and gestures can convey a character's emotions.
- Discover the art of vocal modulation, mastering techniques to control pitch, tone, and resonance.
- Delve into the crucial role of space in theatrical performances. Participants will gain insights into the transformative impact of stage design, lighting, and spatial dynamics on the overall theatrical experience.
Open to aspiring actors and theater enthusiasts of all levels! This workshop is in French and recommended for level B2 and up.

Joëlle Préfontaine
Originally from Legal, Alberta, Joëlle is a multidisciplinary and multilingual artist. She has performed on stages across the country in
English, French, and Franglish. Joëlle graduated from Red Deer College with a degree in Theatre Performance and also holds a Bachelor's
degree in Acting and a Master's degree in Theatre Practice from the University of Alberta. From 2018 to 2020, she was the Artistic
Director and Co-General Director of L'UniThéâtre in Edmonton, focusing mainly on the development of Alberta playwrights.
Her manifesto "J'Parle mal pis j'aime ça" was published in a special edition of the literary journals Ancrages and À ciel
ouvert, titled "Entre ciel et mer". In September 2022, her play "Récolte" was published by Éditions du Blé in
Winnipeg. She loves sharing her passion for theatre.
Animé par Joëlle Préfontaine, cet atelier d'une heure et demi offre une occasion unique d'explorer et d'affiner vos compétences en matière d'expression théâtrale !
Au programme :
- Découverte de l'impact du langage corporel dans la narration. Plongez dans l'art de l'expression physique, en comprenant comment des mouvements et des gestes subtils peuvent transmettre les émotions d'un personnage.
- Exercice de l'art de la modulation vocale, en maîtrisant les techniques de contrôle de la hauteur, du ton et de la résonance.
- Découverte du rôle crucial de l'espace dans les représentations théâtrales. Les participants se familiariseront avec l'impact de la scénographie et de l'éclairage au coeur de l'expérience théâtrale.
Ouvert aux acteurs en herbe et amateurs de théâtre de tous niveaux !
Cet atelier est en français et recommandé pour les niveaux B2 et plus.

Joëlle Préfontaine

pays en anglais, en français et en franglais. Joëlle est diplômée du Red Deer College avec un diplôme en interprétation théâtrale et détient
également une licence en art dramatique ainsi qu'une maîtrise en pratique théâtrale de l'Université de l'Alberta. De 2018 à 2020, elle a été
directrice artistique et co-directrice générale de L'UniThéâtre à Edmonton, se concentrant principalement sur le développement des
dramaturges albertain·e·s. Elle écrit des pièces de théâtre et des slams. Son manifeste "J'Parle mal pis j'aime ça" a été publié dans une
